Philosophy

Welcome to New York Concerto Academy, where your professional career starts.

My life as a cellist started when I was 10 years old. From then on, I have studied classical music and cello until the age of 30. For 20 years of education and research in some of the prestigious schools, such as Juilliard and University of Michigan, I begun to question myself:

When will I perform great concerto pieces
from Dvorak, Elgar, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, or Lalo with a professional orchestra?

Several years later, my life as a soloist took off. I have worked and performed with numerous orchestras around the globe. That is when I came to the realization that performing with an orchestra cannot simply be done with hours of practice and school education.

With this realization, I am happy to introduce NYCA and its Concerto Course, in the hopes of providing opportunities for fellow musicians the chance of working with internationally renowned orchestras.

I warmly welcome you to NYCA.
